We learned with great pain of the death of our dear friend Professor Moussa Naby BALDE, National Director of Epidemiology and Head of Diabetology De Donka this Monday, December 19, 2022 in Guinea following a short illness.
Considered the boss of the fight against diabetes in Guinea, Professor Moussa Naby BALDE is part of this generation of young university physicians, pioneers in their country and totally committed to the cause of diabetes not only in Guinea but also in Africa.
Former President of the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) African Region, then Vice-President of the IDF, I had the great pleasure of knowing him and working with him within the various institutions and in particular the Francophone Diabetes Society which he led.
In Morocco and at the level of the Moroccan League for the Fight against Diabetes, we salute him, the friend and brother who has been to all the scientific and medico-social events of the League in Rabat, Benguerir, Kenitra and Dakhla. He has participated in and led many sessions both face-to-face and virtual since the advent of COVID19. Highly appreciated by Moroccan Endocrinologist Diabetologists, he has always worked for the development and strengthening of medical relations between African countries and especially with Morocco.
On this painful occasion, on my own behalf and that of the members of the Moroccan League for the Fight against Diabetes, we would like to pay a vibrant tribute to this very dear friend. And, we present our sincere condolences to his little family, to his friends and to all the medical and university family of Guinea.
We pray that his soul rests in peace and that God welcomes him to his paradise.
We belong to God and to him we return.
